 Progress of Science 

               The following three features are responsible for the astonishing progress of science. 

1. Scientific Ttitude of mind 

2.Development of scientific instruments 

3.Increasingly effective of mathematics

            The writer points out that science has made a great contribution to the welfare of society such as the comforts of modern living, eliminating social evils such as poverty, diseases, etc 

Objective Thinking 

                  However, science has its limitations. science can do more for society if scientists have an objective based on facts instead of prejudiced thinking.




 Three Elements of Education 

                     To make science more beneficial the writer concludes that education must contain three elements Science, religion, and humanities. We can then have a harmonious society where people might be living peacefully and happily without any controversy in the society


 Q: Explain what is meant by the universality of science and mathematics?

         Universality means existing or operating everywhere, under all conditions. given adequate professional training in the same field, Two scientists observing the same physical phenomena are likely to reach the same conclusion about them, no matter what their race, religious or political creed . their Instruments will give them the same readings. the laws of mathematics will bind the calculation of them both. The universality of science and maths is the cause of the tremendous progress of science today.



Q: In what period does the writer appear to place the beginning of modern science? 

     The writer appears to place the beginning of modern science since Newton's period (1642-1727) or the 17th century SIR Isaac Newton was an English mathematician and physicist. in the time, the three elements of modern science: a scientific attitude of mind, development of scientific apparatus, and effective use of mathematics had become common. Thus modern science started from Newton's time.
